ABC Truffula Trees Gross Motor Matching Game

We are coming up on March 2nd, which is Dr. Seuss’ birthday also known as Read Across America Day! So to celebrate this day and a great children’s author I came up with a fun alphabet learning activity that also tapped into my son’s need to move!
One of my son’s favorite Dr. Seuss books is The Lorax! So I thought it would be fun to use his interest in this story to create the ABC Truffula Trees Gross Motor Matching Game! I originally planned to play this game much like we did the ABC Snowflake Match or ABC Star Hunt & Match, but he wasn’t interested in playing the same ol’ way, so I had to change it up a bit! I did this by bringing out the scooter board and having him move around while finding matches!
