Are you looking for a great opportunity for a Speech-Language Pathologist in a school setting? We’re hiring for a School-based Speech-Language Pathologist near the vicinity of Oak Lawn, IL.
Speech-Language Pathologist Position Details:
– Actively participate as a member of the special education team in evaluating students and determining disabilities when case studies are necessary
– Communicate and cooperate with colleagues, students, parents, and the community as needed to meet professional standards
– Participate in problem-solving meetings
– Maintain accurate records (students’ performance data, clerical responsibilities, Medicare billing, etc.) for the purpose of documenting accurate student information, reports, and Medicare reimbursement
– Provide outreach services to students and families in the form of home intervention, phone calls, and referral to appropriate agencies when necessary
– Participate in meetings and perform other responsibilities as assigned by the principal or designee in accordance with the contract and Board of Education
– Utilize technology to promote learning, creativity, collaboration
– Ability to sit/stand for prolonged periods of time
– Assesses students’ communication skills (e.g. articulations, fluency, voice, expressive and receptive language, etc.) for the purpose of identifying communication disorders, determining program eligibility and developing recommendations for treatment.
– Participates in meetings, workshops, and seminars (e.g. training, IEPs, team meetings, etc.) for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information
– Provides speech and language therapy to students for the purpose of minimizing the adverse impact of speech and language disorders on student success
Qualifications: You will need to hold a Master’s Degree in Communications Sciences Disorders or Speech-Language Pathology, and a current state license (or be eligible for same). Professional Educator’s License (PEL)
