PediaStaff Establishes New Division to Place Therapy Professionals in Hospitals and Clinics

PediaStaff, a nationwide, niche-oriented staffing company focusing on the placement and staffing of pediatric therapists, has added a new division to concentrate on the placement of pediatric and adult therapists in hospital and clinic settings.
The new division, PS MedJobs, will place occupational therapists, physical therapists, and speech-language pathologists in outpatient, inpatient, and acute care positions in hospitals across the country. While PediaStaff has always concentrated on pediatric therapy, this division places both adult and pediatric therapists, said Pediastaff Vice President of Recruitment Keith Adams.
PediaStaff previously accepted job orders from hospitals but never dedicated a focused effort to that area. The inspiration for PS MedJobs came from PediaStaff’s extensive presence in social media, Adams said. PediaStaff maintains active profiles on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, and LinkedIn in addition to a blog for therapists on their website. Through those sites, PediaStaff connected with a number of potential candidates who were interested in hospital settings and adult populations rather than the school-based positions in which PediaStaff specializes.
“We didn’t want to leave those people sitting in our database,” Adams said. “We wanted to have something to offer them that was concrete. We knew we were leaving opportunity on the table when it came to the hospital line of business both for pediatric and adult settings. This helped us make the decision to put focus behind our existing hospital and clinic business and move forward with PS MedJobs.”
Heading the division is Vicki Hill, who was named the Director of Development for PS MedJobs. Hill has been recruiting for over 10 years and has been with PediaStaff since 2008. She will be supported by recruiters Bess Robbins and Christine Rogers.
PS MedJobs places therapists in both direct-hire and contract positions. Contractors placed through the division will be employed through the contract staffing back-office services of Top Echelon® Contracting. PediaStaff has been a Top Echelon Contracting client since 2001 and has made 796 placements through its back-office.
“I have worked with the PediaStaff recruiters for over 10 years,” said Top Echelon Contracting President Debbie Fledderjohann. “They are so dedicated to the therapy industry and it shows in everything they do and say. I’ve never worked with an organization that is so focused on making sure that the end client, whether it be a hospital or a school, has exactly what they need from a staffing perspective. At the same time they are extremely conscientious about making sure the contract candidate’s needs are met. I think this group of recruiters learned early on that it has to be a win-win for everyone or the contract placement would not last. This shows in the length of their contract assignments and their re-hire record. Both clients and candidates continue to return to PediaStaff recruiters when they have any sort of need or opportunity. I am 100% convinced that this dedication to the industry will continue in their new division, PS MedJobs!”
