Editor’s Note: Although this story is not about a child with the types of diagnoses most of us work with as pediatric therapists, this is fascinating technology that might have a place for our kiddos with acute issues that might prevent them from being physically in the classroom.
Into the inbox comes another great link to a story about Lyndon Baty who suffers from Polycystic Kidney Disease and has virtually no immune system. Instead of staying at home, avoiding interaction, vGo is affording Lyndon the chance to be present with his classmates in his high school.
You can see that the vGo works quite well for the purpose of Lyndon, giving him access to the world outside of his home – and weeks from now, it will be very interesting to revisit his high-school and ask his friends what they think. Specifically on how he interacts with his classmates and his teachers – after the novelty has worn off.
