Practicing scissors skills can start as early as 2 years, depending on the child, but 3 is the better age to start. One of may twins was super keen to learn how to cut when she turned 2 so I started doing activities with her. But my other twin wasn’t quite there developmentally. Their fine motor muscles had not developed enough to allow them to hold the scissors probably. So I practiced other things like paper tearing with them.
