Wants and Needs of Relatives’ Involvement in Patient Care: The Same but Different
[Source: JBI Evidence Synthesis]
Our scoping review in this issue of JBI Evidence Synthesis mapped the available literature on the wants and needs of relatives of patients with a malignant brain tumor (MBT) regarding their involvement in the patients’ care. This review was undertaken alongside another scoping review that focused on relatives of patients with an acquired brain injury (ABI). Both of these scoping reviews form part of an ongoing larger study (Involvement of relatives of patients with acquired brain injury or malignant brain tumor: a complex intervention study) aiming to develop, test, evaluate, and implement a tool that ensures systematic identification and monitoring in connection with the involvement of relatives. Conducting scoping reviews is one of several components in the development of complex interventions in health care.
